This month we gladly responded to an invitation by the regional hunters association from Carinthia (Slovenia) to present some views about brown bear and the main LIFE DINALP BEAR project activities. The attendants were coming from the region, where bear is only an occasional guest. They were nonetheless interested in bear biology, research findings about bear behaviour and means of preventing and solving bear-human conflicts, which is one of the most important aspects of the project. Hunters were especially excited about the camera-trap videos, showing the effectiveness of protective measures against large carnivore depredation.
