ACTION E.3 – Info-points in human-bear conflict hot-spots

Interactive info-points will be set up in human-bear conflict hot-spots (Action A.1 and Action A.3) in locations suitable for indoor and outdoor installation. Interactive software for these terminals will be developed and will allow visitor/users to navigate to the information they are interested in. Each info-point will be adapted (if necessary) to local specifics i.e. type of human-bear conflict occurring, type of farming, considering results of public attitude survey (Action A.2), etc. Farmers located relatively close to these info-points will be able to additionally promote their “bear-friendly” products (Action C.6) together with promoting and demonstrating effective preventive measures in farming (Action C.2). Info-points will be set up at frequently visited places or places of interest such as highway resting points, libraries, ZOOs, visitor centers, shopping centers, museums, nature parks as well as on all important project public events (press-conferences, demonstration of best practice examples) in the project core area (Slovenia and Croatia). Main goal of this action is to inform and interact with local public and visitors of bear areas where human-bear conflicts occur frequently.
