The Slovenian Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food, and Slovenia Forest Service have published a handbook about prevention measures of large carnivores attacks. The publication also introduces large carnivores’ behaviour when confronted with livestock and describes different practices of livestock protection. The handbook follows the objectives of successful co-existence between people and large carnivores, which is also main objective of LIFE DINALP BEAR project. Damages on livestock can be decreased drastically with proper prevention measures, which in turn contributes to increased public acceptance of large carnivores and their conservation.
