In Ljubljana, during the process of developing new Strategy of brown bear management in Slovenia, stakeholders have met for the third time. Over 50 participants took part in the workshop, representing a wide array of stakeholders’ viewpoints (managers, farmers, livestock breeders, hunters, researchers, natural conservationists etc.). This time, the topic discussed was an overview of the Common guidelines for brown bear management on a population level for Alpine and Northern Dinaric area. During the workshop, participants expressed their opinions and beliefs about current and future bear management in Slovenia and about the approach how to implement the Common guidelines into Slovenian national strategy for brown bear.
