LIFE DINALP BEAR project steering group members from all four project countries gathered for the last time last month in Venice, Italy. In the beautiful surroundings of the Venice coast, we were kindly hosted at the Palazzo della Regione, where we draw the line through our actions and defined the things yet to be done. Despite that the end of the project is approaching very fast, there are still many things that need to be finalised, submitted, written, reported and analysed. Our team members still have a handful of field and laboratory work.

At the same time we are glad to look back and realise, how much work we carried out in these past years. The project was not shaped only by our achievements, implemented measures, publications, reports, workshops and meetings, but also by the enthusiasm and ambition of the project team, who believed all along that our work made a difference for brown bears and people.

The next day we were kindly invited to participate at the guided tour through the Venice lagoon, where we learned some significant historical and cultural facts, learned about their environmental and nature conservation efforts, and observed fauna and flora of the Lagoon.
