In March, along with the projects Nat2care and YOUrALPS, presentation about brown bear and other large carnivore species was held at Biotechnical Center Naklo in Slovenia. During the workshop, vocational high school students, enrolled in environmental technician study program, got familiar with large carnivore species’ biology, ecology and behavior, also by using realia (e.g. fur and footprint casts). Since proper human behavior towards coexistence is of great importance, the students were also presented the recommendations on the proper behavior while visiting large carnivore area and the importance of effectively preventing damages, caused by large carnivores. They also learnt, how we can decrease the frequency of bears wandering close to human settlements due to anthropogenic organic waste. The most effective prevention measures along with the proper and consistent use were discussed.
