We assessed spatial and temporal availability of carrion from red deer, roe deer, wild boar and chamois which is already available to bears and availability of carrion that could be additionally used for feeding of bears. This analysis represents the basis for the establishment of experimental supplementary feeding of bears with carrion within action C7, where we will investigate the effectiveness of this measure to reduce human-bear conflicts.
