The fourth meeting with stakeholders in the process of developing a new Strategy for brown bear management in Slovenia was dedicated to a meeting among representatives of livestock breeding community, representatives of responsible Ministry and project team members. The purpose of the meeting was to address the specific concerns livestock breeders have with regards to brown bear management. Representatives of livestock breeders’ organizations presented their views, concerns and expectations. Those were discussed and common principles and agreements were reached among all participants. Besides discussing the topics of the new strategy, project members and state agencies introduced also several presentations on bear ecology, results of behavioural research, science-based management decisions and administrative compensation payment procedures.
