On Thursday, April 27th, two workshops abut bears were conducted at Petar Zrinski Elementary School and Vladimir Nazor High School in Čabar within “Week of Science”. Forty eight students participated in the workshops. Anatomy and ecology of the brown bear and their behavior was presented to participants, as well as methods of preventing conflict between bears and people.

The workshops attracted a lot of interest among the students who actively participated asking questions and debating with lecturers and teachers. Students also participated in practical part of workshop: casting bear paw models, calculating bear population abundance, etc.

In the afternoon, a public presentation about project actions, results and research of bears in Croatia at Regional was held at Petar Zrinski school in Tršće. 28 attendees from Tršće area were present at the event. An intetesting discussion about bears and related topics developed after the event.
