Two-day international workshop about brown bear management in Republic of Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) was held in Banja Luka on February 18-19, 2016. Workshop started with presentation of conservation and management of the brown bear in the framework of European law and its compliance and implementation in the BiH as well as national regulations and current knowledge about brown bear population in Republic of Srpska. It was followed by presentation about status of brown bear population in Republic of Croatia. Experiences about Brown bear management plan developing methodology and logistics for bear management: Bear management committee and intervention team establishment, action plans and working protocols, monitoring methods and databases were transferred. On the second day working plan for development of the Management plan was formed, with specific tasks and functions. LIFE DINALP BEAR project’s results were presented during workshop: Guidelines for Intervention groups (A.1) and Questionnaires about public attitude (A.2). Together with planned Guidelines for population level management (A.6) they will be implemented during development of the Management plan for Republic of Srpska and later for BiH. Đuro Huber, Josip Kusak and Slaven Reljić were presenters from Croatian part of LIFE DINALP BEAR team.
