On September 21 2016 the steering group meeting was held at Slovenia Forest Service premises in Ljubljana. On September 22 and 23, the project monitor, dr. Mitja Kaligarič, visited us with the representative from the Slovenian Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning, Mrs. Julijana Lebez Lozej. The first day we presented our project activities and general progress of the project. The next day, we took the monitoring team on a field trip and presented the implementations of different measures: the set up of electric nettings around a pasture for protection of sheep, the implemented measures for the decrease of bear mortality along Slovenian railways and a feeding site, where we explore supplementary feeding of bears with carrion and its effects on bears.
