On the 16 of May, students and teachers from the Sodražica primary school hosted a successful science day that focused on living with bears. The science day incorporated presentations, classroom learning, and a field trip where students met landowners and farmers who had direct experiences with bears. Students were exposed to various tools and techniques relevant to Slovenia’s that included: bear resistant compost and garbage bins, electric fencing, and bear safety techniques. Nearly fifty students participated along with representatives of the LIFE DINALP Bear Project, Slovenia Forest Service, and the University of Ljubljana.
